VBMA Alumni Mentor Program
What Does An Alumni Mentor Do?
Mentorship: support for the school chapter. This included officers and members.
Networking: Help to build alumni VBMA network.
Advice: This will be chapter-specific - speakers, networking, by-laws, contracts with vendors, risk management issues, budgetary matters, sponsors relationships, chapter project design/organization, and idea generation.
Perspective: Historical information pertaining to past obstacles, successes and/or failures of the organization to help support chapter development
Mentors are expected to provide advice and perspective that serves the best interests of the chapter and its members. This is your opportunity to give back to the VBMA and provide meaningful connections with alumni and students. The relationship between each chapter and their mentor(s) will look different -- this program was created to foster a connection with like-minded individuals and build on the VBMA network.
This is a volunteer mentorship program. You may be asked to attend in-person or virtual meetings of the affiliated chapter(s) depending on location and feasibility. Mentors are not to seek compensation for their time, but may be reimbursed for travel, parking, lodging and meals pertaining to any work with the chapter. Any expenses must be approved by the chapter ahead of time.
